Remortgaging

Remortgage advice that keeps you off the SVR

When your fixed or tracker deal ends, drifting onto the standard variable rate can cost you hundreds a month. We'll secure your next deal up to six months ahead.

Important: Your home (or property) may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage or any other debts secured on it. Some forms of Buy to Let mortgages are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Six months early is exactly the right time

Most lenders let you lock in a new rate up to six months before your current deal expires. That means you can secure today's rate as insurance, and if better deals appear before you complete, we can usually move you across. There's very little downside to starting early - and a real cost to leaving it late.

We'll compare your existing lender's retention deals against the whole market, check any early repayment charges, and handle the application and legal work so the switch happens seamlessly the day your current deal ends.

Common remortgage questions

Ideally around six months before your current deal ends. Most lenders let you secure a new rate up to six months ahead, which means you can lock something in and still keep an eye on the market. If rates fall before completion, we can usually switch you to the better deal.
